The development of a loudspeaker such as the M 1000 FCR was a task that any engineer would work on with utmost pleasure – whether it be day or night. After all, who could call himself an engineer and not wish to work on a project with the single goal of developing the best-ever THX front channel speaker – using only the very best materials and componentry – when the sky is the limit in terms of costs. Even its predecessor model, the M 990, was renowned for being the only THX speaker in the world to receive a license for the 9000 cubic foot category with its outstanding dynamic performance and extremely low distortion. This successor is the central speaker in our Theater 10 system and is the main reason why this system is unparalleled in the world for having received so many positive reviews and appraisals. The M 1000 FCR, is even more musical and contains significant improvements. This speaker is ideally suited to recording studios and listening rooms up to 150 m2 in size. The linear frequency response and extremely low distortion specifications make this speaker the world champion in its class. The M 1000 FCR is guaranteed to be absolutely neutral in reproducing any type of audio, from music to film soundtracks. The speaker design is based on the same main concepts used in all of our THX front speakers: four-way D’Appolito configuration in horizontal format for front speakers with absolutely identical response.
This full-range dipole speaker – switchable to dipole, monopole or bipole mode – utilises double symmetry and contains an integrated subwoofer. A monster of a speaker, the M 1000 D THX Ultra 2 belongs in the champion’s league. Building on the technology of the M 800 D THX Ultra 2, this speaker is also equipped with a side-firing subwoofer, which provides permanent relief for the 130 mm mid-woofer from having to handle bass duties in the range between 80 200 Hz. As a result, the dynamic range has been enlarged yet again and distortion has been reduced even further. This opulent full-range dipole is truly a ‘no compromise’ speaker that is also suitable for audio playback in large rooms up to 150 m2 in size.
